The Game Training
The Summer School held in Nida organised a series of training sessions along one week.
Teachers understand what the project is about, Help desk INFO, Understanding Games components based on Play Station, Nintendo and PC, Understanding games components, Understand the platform concept, components and how they work.
Three different worksheets were prepared for the participants covering the following topics.
- Constructing the Interactive Narrative Worksheet
- Expanding the Player´s Role Worksheet
- Game Design Framework Worksheet
The worksheets enable the teachers to understand key concepts including how to use the emapps.com game engine, content creation and game play definition
Teachers were asked to express the fundamental spirit of their game, in a resumé of no more than two to four pages including:
- the premise of the game content
- the audience (a definition of the profile of the and people involved
- its genre (for example, Adventure, Discovery, Strategy components
- the overall story line
- the ‘game play’ what the gamer is supposed to do
- the technology to be used and its purposes.
- team creation and role distribution
- the primary game play mode (playing field, interaction model, challenges, actions)
- mechanics of the game (‘internal economy’, victory and loss conditions)
- the writer’s role (curricula, story, players, deliverables)
- the technical interface (digital devices and networks)
