Challenge 4 

To find out about past inhabitants.

Task:

A fisherman’s homestead is made of 5 buildings.

  1. Firstly, you will have to name all those buildings correctly.
  2. Then you will have to find hidden tools and means, necessary for knitting the net in the homestead.
  3. Take pictures of all means and send them to the centre.
  4. After finding everything you will have to weave a piece of a net. You will be able to see how to do all that in the fisherman’s homestead. Upon finishing the net you will have to take the pictures and record all material and give it to us.

“Good job. Now we firmly believe that our and your worlds will not disappear. We have managed to restore the shape of ancient Smiltyne, and the time hole no longer seems so scary. But that is not the end. We have some more tasks ahead of us. Now you have to find a well hold down homestead, where a well know craftsman lived… Find out what the crafts were people from Neringa used to have. You will have a much more difficult task this time, but we hope that will not frighten you. Good luck…”

GPS device brings children to a fisherman’s homestead. After sending a confirmation SMS that a new source of information has been found, children receive a keyword telling them where to look for a hidden task. Children find a piece of old linen, hidden under a threshold. The third task is written on it:

A hint to the task (eg. a poem about a fisherman) can be given by the guard himself.

The palm computer directs children to the fisherman’s homestead.

Children inform the Centre about the place and receive an SMS, telling them to look for Master who will help them to fulfil the task…

Upon fulfilling the task children send the necessary information to the Centre.

 

Challenge 5 

  • To find out about past crafts.

Task:

  • You will have to remember the crafts people in the Curonian spit would have. What is that for?
  • Because the crafts that have disappeared are needed for future people... choose 3 crafts and act them.
  • Record them in a mini plays showing the working process and later stand still and make a picture.

Create plays, record all the process, make several pictures and send all the material to the centre.

A strange noise comes out of the palm computer. After a couple of seconds children can hear the voice of the Strange Guest: Well done… Our crew and all people from future are sending you their regards and words of thanks. The whirlwind that had been destroying everything is gone now. But there is still a part of Smiltyne in the need of restoration. Go ahead, my little friends… Do not disappoint us… Go, as far as you can see, where you are taken by the numbers and pointer… Follow the pointer…

The palm computers bring them to Kopgalis. Children have to find a hidden task. ( It is on the notice board – written on a piece a paper together with lots of other ads and announcements).

Children inform the Centre about the place and receive an SMS, with new coordinates.

They have to find a hidden task No.4 (which is on the notice board – written on a piece a paper together with lots of other ads and announcements).

GPS brings them to Kopgalis.
