Crystals, reflex cameras and a magic eye

But now I have no idea where we are, or rather where we should be. Nanny has inserted a couple of photographs here, but I have never seen these buildings, it doesn’t seem they are around here. And here are some more dates. It may help in understanding some things. Help me decipher this, because the letters are too small for me to read. They both leaned forward, gazed at the notebook in order to make out the meaning of the text written in blue ink.
Based on this piece of information one can tell that the studio was in this town! We’ve got the address, so we’ll find it. We’ll follow this thread to the key.
Look, nanny wrote how many people had electricity in Toruń in 1938. Do you know how many people have electricity now? No? Me neither. This means that not everything was powered by electricity. Not everything? Then what was? Well, what needs power to work: the lighting of the house and on the street, the lights on crossroads, neons, refrigerators, cookers and microwaves, radios and TV sets, telephones, and I don’t know what else... I guess some appliances in factories and hospitals.. But listen if there were so few people who had electricity, what was there instead of electricity. Well, the lights on streets were on gas, so were house lamps and cookers too, there were no fridges, trams were horse-driven. There was no TV. How did they listen to the radio? What’s a crystal radio? Nanny has written that:
You see, They didn’t have the radio all the time! Wait, there is more:
“Now, the thing is clear, no computers, no fridges or television working on electricity, telephones probably existed, but not in such a number as nowadays, and no mobiles. I wonder how did they listen to music if the mp3 didn’t exist, perhaps radio and live concerts, but if they had those crystals with headphones, could they walk with them or just had to sit in one place? There are so many photographs in this notebook and I wonder what kind of the camera they were taken with and who took them. And nanny prided herself” :
“Nothing but precious stones, but those devices must have been expensive, not everyone could afford them. If they hadn’t been popular, she wouldn’t have boasted of them. I understand, that all these photos were made with this camera. But why is there no photo of the town here but some photo out of the blue? Have you got any idea? How to find the key? There was an address somewhere here, let’s have a look into the notes.”
