Playing the Game
The group that’s taking part in the game is divided into two teams: one stays at the headquarter, whilst the other one plays in the territory. At the beginning of the game the group chooses one of the three possible paths represented by a black, blue or red rickshaw. Each path is being prepared by a different team of pupils. Students from Gimnazjum Akademickie work on the regaining independence period, Grębocin school works on the II World War path, and ICIMSS group works on the Solidarity period.
Each path of the game takes place in Toruń old town and requires one day. The group in the territory is accompanied by an adult – THE GUARD.
Apart from receiving information from the headquarter via chat (mobile – computer ) the group in the territory has a notebook at their disposal to watch films prepared beforehand containing challenges.
The group must go through 6 –10 levels of each path of the game which represent different aspects of life in the selected period. We put an emphasis on a local history and history of Poland is just the background. The levels of the game include: everyday life at the selected period of time (fashion, available products, quality of life), education, culture, demonstrations, conspiracy and martyrdom, heroes of the chosen period, economy.
To reach the next level the group needs to solve at least two tasks. In case of problems, there are some additional, easier tasks to be done or clues to be used. However, it takes more time then to get to another level and time is one of the winning factors.
To finish the game the group needs to complete all the obligatory tasks at all the levels in possibly shortest time.
