The Plot

Level 1 - Day: Monday

Task Robo has to mark out the route for the jogging.
Accomplishment Input is a set of problems, results of which are numbers. From the resulted numbers some specific one has to be selected by means of some predefined properties providing the coordinate of the location/position on the route.
Allowed tools GPS, camera
Victory condition Pictures of the locations/positions with the extracted coordinates, BONUS
– for managing the task in time limit
Goal
  • repeating and advancement of numeration, practicing of operations with numbers, discovering of the relationships between numbers
  • practicing the work with GPS, camera and picture upload to the PC
  • time limit forces Robo to run between particular positions – which results in improvement of his physical condition.

(This is possible to realize with the exercises from the different thematic units of the mathematic in the 5th class.)

Curricula targeted Informatics, Mathematics, Geography, Biology, Physical education

Level 2 - Day: Tuesday

Task Robo has to think about proper subsistence, he will learn to master the nutritious calculators and quizzes.
Accomplishment Input will be the uncompleted menu, which Robo has to complete.
Allowed tools URLs of web pages, photos of the meals in the school buffet, school menu. ( http://www.fit.sk/vyziva/index.htm , http://www.fit.sk/kalkul/prijem.htm )
Victory condition Filled menu in such a way that the recommended daily calories’ receiving is preserved. BONUS – for full and correctly completed menu – video with the cooking recipe of the selected meal.
Goal
  • improving information retrieval skills when using Internet
  • ability to find detailed information about shopping goods
  • gaining practical skills in preparing a food

Level 3 - Day: Wednesday

Task Robo has to make a cross-country running in ZOO
Accomplishment Input will be indications received via SMS messages (a kind of riddle about a particular type of animal), map of the ZOO.
Allowed tools GPS, camera, camcorder, mobile phone.
Victory condition Photos or videos from the properly discovered positions. BONUS – for managing the task in time limit.
Goal
  • to get acquainted with mutual relationships between the plants and animals in woodland.
  • to characterize life of organisms in individual forest levels.
  • practicing the work with GPS, camera, camcorder, data (picture and video) upload to the PC time limit forces to run between the particular positions, which leads to improvement of physical condition.
Curricula targeted Informatics, Geography, Biology.

Level 4 - Day: Thursday

Task Robo has to prepare an essay about the animals from the meadows and veldts.
Accomplishment Input will be the map of the ZOO with covered parts – question marks, indications sent as SMS messages, audio recordings, prepared form for filling out.
Allowed tools GPS, camera, camcorder, mobile phone, prepared report.
Victory condition Elaborated essay. BONUS – for managing the task in time limit.
Goal
  • to characterize the meadows, veldts and fields as living space for species.
  • to get acquainted with typical representatives of the meadows and veldts area, and to get acquainted with their life style.
  • practicing the work with GPS, camera, camcorder, data (picture and video) upload to the PC gaining the skills for preparing of essays and reports about the work done.
  • time limit forces to run between particular positions, i.e. the player is improving physical condition.
Curricula targeted Informatics, Geography, Biology.

Level 5 - Day: Friday

Task Robo has to gain the information about how many and which exercises to work out.
Accomplishment Input will be questions related to the Košice Peace marathon (European’s oldest marathon founded in 1924), which answers are a numerical data.
Allowed tools Links to the web pages, photos, information in textual form
Victory condition Correctly answered questions
Goal
  • improving information retrieval skills when using Internet
  • to get acquainted with the history of an important sport event
  • to get in better physical condition.
Curricula targeted Informatics, Biology
